North America:
- The Pacific Temperate Rain Forest Ecoregion is the largest temperate rain forest ecoregion in the world, extending along the pacific coast of Northern California, through Canada, and all the way to the western-most tip of Alaska's coast.
- The Appalachian Temperate Rain Forest situates itself on the southern end of the Appalachian Mountain Range in the South-eastern United States.
South America:
- The Valdivian and Magellanic Temperate Rain Forests together make the second largest temperate rain forest ecoregion, after the Pacific Temperate Rain Forest Ecoregion, and are located on the western side of South America's southern tip, in Chile and Argentina(connected to the Andes Mountains).
Africa:
- The Knysna-Amatole montane forests situate themselves on the South African coast on the southern slopes of the African Drakensberg Mountains , which face the Indian Ocean.
Europe:
- The Atlantic Oakwood forests of the UK populate most of Ireland and the eastern coast of Britain in small valleys.
- The Colchian Forests are found on the south-eastern corner of the Black Sea and are the largest group of temperate rainforests in the eastern European/western Asian region.
- The Fragas do Eume is situated is Western Spain and house around 500 residents, including the monastery of Saint John of Caaveiro.
Asia:
- The Caspian Hyrcanian Forest in Iran and Azerbaijan stretches across northern Iran, above the Elburz and Alborz Mountain Ranges while also crossing into southern Azerbaijan territory.
- The high elevation rainforests of Taiwan take root in the eastern and central Taiwan mountain ranges.
- The Taiyeho Rain forests in Japan cover most of the Shikoku and Kyushu islands, as well as the south-eastern side of Honshu.
Australia:
- Temperate rain forests cover the eastern side of mainland Australia and reach over into Tasmania, with warm-temperate rain forests dominating Australia and cold-temperate rain forests dominating Tasmania.
- The temperate rain forests of New Zealand reside on the western shores of the both the South and North Islands in small ecoregions.
- The Tristan da Cunha group of island south of New Zealand all contain temperate rain forest due to high rainfall as a result of small landmass.
